As brass hardware ages, its surface oxidizes, which leaves a layer of tarnish over the hardware.

Over time, an additional protective layer, called a patina, forms over the untreated tarnished brass.

Brand new brass hardware, such as drawer pulls, door handles or towel bars, stays shiny and bright for decades because its surface is covered by a protective coat, usually a lacquer.

To "age" brass hardware in a reasonable amount of time, you'll first need to remove this protective coating and then ammonia fume the exposed brass.

Steps Remove the hardware from the wall, furniture, door or wherever it's installed.

Wipe it with a clean, dry rag to remove any dust or foreign material.

Skip this step if you have new or uninstalled hardware.

Disassemble the hardware so that you're only working with the brass pieces.

For example, if you're aging a brass candle sconce that has a glass hurricane cover, remove and set aside the glass cover.

Snip 2 1/2-inches (6.

35-centimeters) of wire from a wire hanger.

Use needle nose pliers to curve only one end of the wire into a hook.

Place your brass hardware pieces in the plastic bucket, and then pour lacquer thinner into the bucket.

Use enough lacquer to completely submerge your brass hardware pieces.

Allow the pieces to soak overnight.

brass

Remove your brass hardware pieces from the lacquer using the hook end of your wire.

Lay the pieces over a clean, dry rag and blot at them with another rag.

Take the lid off the coffee can.

Use a hammer and a nail to punch a hole through the can's lid, in the center.

Poke your hanger's unhooked end through this hole, going from the lid's bottom to its top.

Bend the end of the wire that is emerging from the top of the lid into a right angle so the wire hanger can hold itself in place.

Combine 1 cup (240 mL) of water and 2 tsp.

(10 mL) salt into a clean plastic bucket.

Allow the salt to dissolve, and then use the hook end of your lid-hook configuration to dip one of your hardware pieces into the liquid.

Add an inch (2.

54-centimeters) of household ammonia to the coffee can.

Replace the lid onto the coffee can so the hardware piece dangles inside the can, with the hook still holding the saltwater solution-covered hardware piece.

Since your hook is short, and you added only a little ammonia, your hardware piece should not touch the liquid.Apply heat to the can's bottom area with a hair dryer.Remove the can's lid, taking the hardware with it, after two minutes of heat application.Re-dip it in the salt solution.Replace the lid to ammonia fume the piece again.Repeat this process until you've satisfactorily aged your brass hardware piece.

Age the remaining brass hardware pieces that you earlier set aside, one by one.Video Warnings If your hardware isn't solid brass, but is instead brass plated, proceed with the aging process with caution. The process may completely remove the brass plating. If you aren't sure if the hardware is sold brass, scratch it in an unnoticeable area, such as the back of a faucet or the top of a hanging hardware. If scratching reveals more brass or a yellow color, the hardware is solid.Colors such as red or white mean you're probably dealing with bronze, steel or another inexpensive metal.Things You'll Need Clean, dry rags Large plastic bucket Lacquer thinner Wire coat hanger Wire snips Needle nose pliers Metal 1 lb.(.453 kg) coffee can with fitted metal lid Nail Hammer Water Household ammonia Hair dryer Related wikiHows How to Age Copper How to Remove Paint from Brass Fixtures How to De Lacquer Brass How to Paint Brass How to Tell Brass from Copper Sources and Citations http://www.

Self-driving vehicles will play a crucialrole in improving transportation safety and accelerating the world’s transition to asustainable future.

Tesla has announced that all Tesla vehiclesproduced in their factory – including Model 3 – will have the hardware needed for fullself-driving capability at a safety level substantially greater than that of a humandriver.

Eight surround cameras provide 360 degreevisibility around the car at up to 250 meters of range.

Twelve updated ultrasonic sensors complementthis vision, allowing for detection of both hard and soft objects at nearly twice thedistance of the prior system.

A forward-facing radar with enhanced processingprovides additional data about the world on a redundant wavelength, capable of seeingthrough heavy rain, fog, dust and even the car ahead.

To make sense of all of this data, a new onboardcomputer with more than 40 times the computing power of the previous generation runs thenew Tesla-developed neural net for vision, sonar and radar processing software.

Together, this system provides a view of theworld that a driver alone cannot access, seeing in every direction simultaneously and on wavelengthsthat go far beyond the human senses.

It’s all malleable This is just a sound, you know? And so, in my brain, it’s like as long as I remember the sounds that I want, then I can do them in the computer because I can just – it’s not that I can mimic them, but I can get as close to those sounds as I want to.

I think – all I’m doing is creating a physical activity in a way, as opposed to sitting down in front of a computer and having this static relationship.

My name is Roberto

I am Helado Negro.

Today we’re in my studio and we’re showing you mostly a process of inspiration and creation.

The building material.

This is the mine.

You’re inside the mine; we’re mining today.

I would initially learn how to design and make and arrange music and sound by sampling records to a sampler, and then, with that sampler, it became a microscope of sorts that was allowing me to analyze smaller fragments of sound.

So that’s kind of how I’ll end up generating something, and then I’ll start putting stuff together like I just did, decompiling it or whatever and the way I have it set up is that the sound runs through the reverb and then it also runs through the Echoplex – which is a tape delay.

And then there’s a sustain, meaning how long it does that echo for? And for me these are just – it’s a way for me to play with the textures, with the rhythms of things, you know? And I also have it going through this filter, and I have different ways to modify the sound.

For me it’s an exercise in finding rhythms and finding grooves, and then I start hearing melodies on top of stuff like this.

That’s where the singing comes in.

I think a lot of times where I keep generating something, and then all of the sudden I hear this thing and I’m like, “OK I gotta figure – I gotta get it over here quick because if I don’t, it’s like I lose it.

” And within the computer I use different softwares, like Ableton or Pro Tools, and then from that point on I design some sort of song.

And so, a really good example of that is this loop that I ended up making on the MPC and it’s like… You know, it’s like this beat.

And then, on top of that I put this synthesizer, right? And I was just playing this with – I have this little synthesizer called an OP-1, so I’m putting these two things together, and I’m like, “ta da ta da.

” So that ended up being the seed for a song, and I was like, “OK, here we go.

” This is this really fun, melodic thing that I had going, and then I just started singing over it.

The basic vocals ended up being like.

The distinction between everything I’ve done in the past, before Helado Negro was I began to sing and use my voice just as an instrument, another instrument to contrast all the smaller sounds, aggregating samplers and manipulators and modifiers – something to reflect that whole organic process.

Hello and welcome to a POSCatch.

Com presentation, and today we are going to present to you the two different ways to setup your Square cash register point-of-sale system, and we're also going to show you how to get the correct supported hardware for your Square cash register system, so let's get right to it.

So the first thing we want to do is go to our website which is a POSCatch.

Com; that's P-O-S-C-A-T-C-H.

Com and over on the left-hand side here it says "DIY POS Systems" and you have "Square Register Hardware" just go ahead and click on that.

And by the way, this link up here it is listed on the bottom of this YouTube video for you, so you can have quick and easy access to this page that I'm on right now.

OK, so basically.

There's two ways to setup your Square cash register system.

One is with the actual Square Stand itself, and so we'll discuss that one first.

So for the Square Stand installation: the Square Stand comes with a built-in or integrated USB hub/charger, so that allows you to connect your EMV card reader right here.

It allows you to connect a USB barcode scanner and a USB thermal receipt printer.

Now the cash drawer (in this particular setup) the cash drawer is receipt printer driven, so there's an RJ cable right here that goes from the back of the receipt printer to the back of the cash drawer, and every time that this receipt printer prints it sends a signal down this cable to the solenoid in the cash drawer for it to open, OK? And so this is the setup that you would want to have with an iPad and a Square Stand.

Now all of this Hardware in here.

You can't just get any hardware you have to have supported hardware, and we have that hardware already here for you in this retail bundle #1, so if you click on that link right there it will take you to a page where you can get the supported cash drawer, receipt printer and barcode scanner for an iPad with Square Stand setup.

Now the second way to do this is without the Square Stand.

Let's just say that you have an iPad, but you also have your own universal stand and you want to use that.

So let's go ahead and review that setup, so that setup a little bit different.

So right here in this image we have a universal stand with iPad and attached to that would be a USB hub or would be a Lightning to USB cable or 30 pin to USB cable adapter depending on the iPad model that you have.

And the reason why you would need that is so you can connect your USB barcode scanner.

Ok, now Square actually supports a Bluetooth barcode scanner with the Socket Mobile scanner, so if you want to go with the supported hardware you want to get the Socket Mobile scanner; however, you can do a regular USB handheld scanner, but you would need an Apple Lightning to USB cable or 30-pin adapter cable.

So for your other peripherals: for your receipt printer it needs to be a Bluetooth or Ethernet printer for it to be supported without the stand by Square, so we highly recommend the Bluetooth printer.

It's easiest to setup; however, if you plan on having more than one Square cash register system at your store you may want to think about getting an Ethernet or network printer that way you can have more than one POS system printing to the printer.

But again we do recommend Bluetooth receipt printer because it is the easiest for a one system install.

And again here we have a receipt printer driven cash drawer, so the receipt printer driven cash drawer RJ cable goes from the back of the printer to the back of the cash drawer, and every time the printer prints it sends a signal down this cable for the cash drawer to open.

Now this is the way you want to do it if you are going to use a universal iPad stand.

Again, so you're not going to use the Square supplied stand.

You're going to use your own.

Now we actually have this hardware package already setup for you in retail bundle #2, and in this one we actually have the universal stand with the Bluetooth printer, barcode scanner (USB barcode scanner) and cash drawer.

OK, so it's all right there for you.

Now you can go "al a carte" as it were on the point of sale hardware.

So let's say that you just ,you know, wanted to mix and match your own hardware, and you can do that on this page.

We have all of the supported hardware for a Square cash register.

So we have all the printers/Ethernet, all the Bluetooth printers, the USB, the impact printers, your barcode scanners, cash drawers and so forth on down the list here -- everything that you need to go ahead and do a hardware bundle for your Square cash register.

Now we offer some of the best prices for supported Square hardware in the USA, and we also have free shipping within the continental USA, so we're very pleased with the great deals we can offer you.

If you have any additional questions about this please don't hesitate to visit our website at https://POSCatch.

Com or give us a call.

You can also leave comments below this YouTube video, and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Thank you so much for watching and have a great day!.
